Mexico
If you can read this great! This is exactly what my culture is all about.
I decided to do this kind of project because I think it portrays Mexico . It is a style of art called Mexican Huichol Art. My mother knew that this type of art, along with other Mexican art , but I chose this because it seemed to challenge me. I like challenges, so I took it and succeed. Art is much harder than it looks. It requires patience and time. This art is beautiful.
The process is quite simple but takes a long time. First, you draw the picture you want to make into string art on a piece of paper. Second, you get a stickitfelt sheet and lay the page with the drawing over it and lightly put pressure down on the lines outlining the figure you want to make. When you finish the stickitfelt sheet will have a carved in version of the drawing you want to make. Third, you get a razor blade and cut one section of it out first and lift the sheet that covers the sticky part and start to apply the string in whatever shape way or form you want. Fourth, When you finish with apply the entire string out and make the picture you wanted. You must apply a layer of glue to keep it down for good. Then your all done!
I made this artwork because I have hispanic heritage and this artwork is a type of hispanic art. This artwork symbolizes in my life that I am hispanic and im proud of it. I used Actual texture in my art. I used tint int my art. I used primary colors in my art.
