Game Recreating

Half way - Photo

Finished Project Photo

Photo that Inspired Game

Charades is the game that I tried to recreate. By recreating it I made it into a spinner charades. I used the element form in my game when I made the spinner 3d. I also used the element space by having empty space around my cards and spinner. I used value by having light colors in my game. I used texture by having the cards and spinner to be smooth. I used variety by having several shapes in my game.

Who Am I Critique

Matthew Melton

I chose to critique Matthew Meltons artwork because this type of art is my favorite. What stands out the most to me is that he make the face 3d and not flat. I like it and it look really cool. The nose makes my eyes wander. The feeling i'm seeing in this artwork is happiness, but I also see worry concern like this face is listening so intently to find out what happened. "The African Face" is what I would name the artwork. Mostly the colors brown, and white were used in this art piece. The color represents what a face of a native african tribe member would look. He wanted to portray his culture in a fun and interesting way other than drawing. I like the overall recreation a lot because of the 3d affect.

Favorite daily Object Sketches

I like these Daily Object Sketches because they are the best daily object sketches I have drawn.
I didn't like the daily object sketches because they were too hard to keep up with and remember. I have other classes and other homework to worry about. I think that we shouldn't have done this daily object sketch thing. I would prefer to do a project instead.

Favorite Art Journal

These are my favorite art journals because of how to displayed the question. I like the colors I used as well. These colors are my favorite colors.

I enjoyed the art journal but I thought it was given out to often. I personally think we should have done it every other week. The questions given were interesting topics and I like to do these.

Mexico

If you can read this great! This is exactly what my culture is all about.
I decided to do this kind of project because I think it portrays Mexico . It is a style of art called Mexican Huichol Art. My mother knew that this type of art, along with other Mexican art , but I chose this because it seemed to challenge me. I like challenges, so I took it and succeed. Art is much harder than it looks. It requires patience and time. This art is beautiful.
The process is quite simple but takes a long time. First, you draw the picture you want to make into string art on a piece of paper. Second, you get a stickitfelt sheet and lay the page with the  drawing over it and lightly put pressure down on the lines outlining the figure you want to make. When you finish the stickitfelt sheet will have a carved in version of the drawing you want to make. Third, you get a razor blade and cut one section of it out first and lift the sheet that covers the sticky part and start to apply the string in whatever shape way or form you want. Fourth, When you finish with apply the entire string out and make the picture you wanted. You must apply a layer of glue to keep it down for good. Then your all done!
I made this artwork because I have hispanic heritage and this artwork is a type of hispanic art. This artwork symbolizes in my life that I am hispanic and im proud of it. I used Actual texture in my art. I used tint int my art. I used primary colors in my art.

Lam Truong Art Project Reflection

Lam Truong recreated the artwork "High Heels Abstraction Dripping" by Pierre Kenal Luois. The first thing that stands out in the paintings is the shoes are melting. I would never think of painting a pair of shoes that are melting. The way the shoes are designed and drawn are funky and makes me turn me head sideways. Also the fact that the shoe is melting caught my attention and made me think why the artist was trying to say when making this artwork. When I look at the artwork it makes me think cocky, wealthy, and self-centered. Wealth Melts would be what I would name the artwork. Lam used yellow as the background, Blue as the show color, and Orange as the legs. I think the blue means that the person is sad because the persons wealth is melting. I think the shoes represent wealth. I know his family owns a shoe factory and it reminds him of his family who is not which him because he is an international student and his family is in a different country. I really like to message he was trying to send when he painted this painting. It shows happiness in the midst of despair. What I'm trying to say is that he misses his family so drawing this painting made him happy because it reminded him of them.

Artist Statement

Original Artwork

Artist Statement

I don’t have any information about the artist. I chose to recreate this artwork because it is a sunset and I love sunsets. This artwork intrigued me more then the other because of how they used and egg and made a sunset over an ocean. I love oceans and sunsets, so I thought it would be fun to recreate this artwork. The artwork symbolizes to me joy. I find joy in looking at the sun. The sun makes me think and sitting at quite location, which I don’t do often makes me have peace when I’m stressed or just need some comfort. It also reminds me of the line “They rode off into the sunset” which makes me think of happy ending and joy. The motion that sense in the colors used in the artwork are joy that comes form the yellow in the sun or “yoke of the egg”. I did not change the color of the sun because I still wanted to display joy in my painting as well. I did change the water to grass and chafed the color to green. I wanted it to be a road leading into the sunset, instead of a stream leading into the ocean. I used the color pallets primary, secondary colors, and tertiary colors. I used acrylic colors because of the texture it has. Its thicker then regular paint but thinner then pastels. I used a paintbrush and canvas. If this were a group project I would make the sun, because I find the sun the most important part of this painting. I feel very successful on this painting because of how mush effort I put into it. I think that the sky worked out really good because that was not my original idea for the sky but it ended to be cool and unique. If I were to do the project again i would add something to the grass to make it a little more unique then it is already. The most difficult part of this project was not mixing up the paint in the process. i learned that when you make a mistake it may not turn out the way you want it to but if you go with it and don’t start over you will see how one mistake can lead to a better painting then you ever imagined.
